Time has come. On 23rd December 2011, we are going to have another USG scan. And we would be able to see the foetus’ sex. So, in order to add more fun :), we invite you to guess the sex of the foetus.

2011年12月23日，我们将进行第二次B超检查，最令人兴奋的是我们可以知道宝宝的性别了。所以我们现在邀请和我们有同样期待心情的你们一起来猜一猜宝宝的性别。

We will let you know the answer on Christmas Eve UK time (so, on Christmas day in China & Indonesia). Happy guessing everyone.

小傻批评我不更新日志了，被“逼”之下，我上来冒个泡了。呵呵，其实也不是这样，关键是我这一个月一切良好，没什么要特别纪录的。首先，已经度过了前三个月的孕吐期和不稳定期，第四个月的状态超级好，没有长胖，肚子也还不是太大，不告诉别人的话，没有人知道我怀孕了。我常常跟大家开玩笑说，我还是身轻如燕呢。 再次，我还不能感觉到宝宝的任何动作，每天吃得好，睡得香，感觉跟怀孕前没什么两样。

11月21日星期五，我怀孕的第十周，我们第一次被约去医院见助产师，也是第一次跨进圣玛丽医院(St Mary’s hospital)，也就是我未来即将生产的医院。也许是因为生孩子的部门（不好意思，不知道怎么准确用中文表达）是一个迎接新生命的地方，与孩子有关，整个住院大楼竟给人十分温馨的感觉，进门就是挂着气球的礼品店，墙上到处贴着五颜六色的可爱的宣传纸，更难得的是没有一般医院的那种药水味儿，早就 听说这医院的好多部门一年前都搬进了新大楼，可眼前明亮宽敞的住院大楼还是给了我不小的惊喜，至少缓解了一下我的紧张心情。

You may have known that some foods and alcoholic beverages are harmful for the foetus. You may have been told that tiredness and stressful environment would affect the foetus badly. You also may have understood that pollutions are bad for the foetus. These are of general knowledge among expecting parents.

But, do you know your television at home may be harmful for the foetus? Or that the printer in your office is so evil to the foetus? or that computer screen, hairdryer, etc you-name-it are conspiring against your precious foetus? No, don’t start to laugh. I’m (trying to be) very serious with this 😀 *grin*.

Most likely, your answer will be a firm “No”. …… Unless you are from China :).

And that’s the main point of this entry. A lot of chinese are so obsessed with protecting their foetus. Apparently, chinese have identified the new evil in the TV, printer, and so-on :D. (Aha, a new business idea: to provide living quarters in caves for pregnant mothers in china *hahahaha*). So, they think that those gadgets (TV, etc) emit a dangerous level of radiation. And that’s why, pregnant mothers should protect their womb with ….. a special piece of cloth. It is believed that the cloth blocks any radiation.

We did test the cloth. We used the cloth to cover a mobile phone, and yeah, the phone didn’t get any signal.

We talked about this radiation madness. We conclude that since most chinese can only have one child, then they showered the child with the love too many. If before, they “spoil” the child with abundance food (cloth, toy, etc); now, they also spoil the foetus :). From this point of view, it’s actually quite the same with the chinese-indonesian tradition about specific herbal-food for pregnant mothers.
